Gwyn realizes that for some clients, the decision to enter therapy is made during a stressful time. However, she believes that these times can be useful in serving as a catalyst for change that leads to a happier, healthier life.
Gwyn is strongly committed to helping her clients achieve satisfaction in all areas of their lives. She integrates a practical and skillful approach to problem-solving that enables her clients to identify and overcome obstacles impeding their personal growth. She assists her clients in embracing their potential and building on their strengths so that they may experience improved interactions with others and their environment.
As a Licensed Psychotherapist, Gwyn offers individual therapy to clients struggling with a variety of personal issues. Gwyn also specializes in the treatment of Eating Disorders and considers herself a strong advocate for this growing dilemma. Her area of expertise includes Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge-Eating Disorder, and Obesity issues for males and females, children, adolescents, and adults.
Known for her optimism, warmth, and insight, Gwyn tailors treatment to her clients’ needs by using a combination of cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and feminist theories. She provides a high level of clinical skill with a safe, understanding environment necessary to face the challenges of change. She is devoted to providing comprehensive care for each individual and will work with psychiatrists, medical doctors, and nutritionists as needed.
